Babe

Babe is quiet, lethargic, and notably slow to process events. Long pauses separate his words, and he depends on Miss Merry Christmas to interpret changing situations and issue simple instructions.

He is obedient rather than independently ambitious. Babe rarely questions his partner or Baroque Works and appears content to perform the physical portion of their assignments.

Despite his subdued manner, he shows no hesitation about lethal violence. He swings explosive projectiles toward trapped opponents and participates in the planned destruction of Alubarna without concern for civilian casualties.

Babe possesses immense natural strength despite having no known Devil Fruit ability. His principal weapon is a metal baseball bat weighing four tons, which he can swing with enough force to redirect Lassoo’s explosive projectiles at high speed.

Lassoo fires baseball-shaped bombs from its mouth after sneezing. Babe times his swings to launch these bombs along calculated trajectories, turning their partnership into a form of mobile artillery. He can also strike opponents directly with the bat.

His physical endurance allows him to survive substantial punishment, but his slow reactions make him vulnerable to deception. Opponents can manipulate the trajectories of his attacks or lure him into the blast radius of Lassoo’s bombs.

Babe and Drophy, better known as Miss Merry Christmas, are assigned to guard the cannon intended to destroy Alubarna’s central square. They encounter Usopp and Tony Tony Chopper while the two Straw Hats search for the weapon.

Drophy’s tunnel network lets Babe and Lassoo attack from prepared positions. Babe’s explosive batting severely injures Usopp and Chopper, but the Straw Hats exploit the agents’ teamwork rather than confronting his strength directly.

Chopper tricks Drohpy into emerging in the path of Babe’s bat, while Usopp uses the same attacks against Babe. Their final combination sends Babe, Drohpy, and Lassoo into one of the gun-dog’s falling bombs. After Baroque Works collapses, Babe is freed during Marianne’s cover-story rescue and becomes a pizza-delivery worker at the new Spiders Cafe.

Drophy is Babe’s Baroque Works partner and primary decision-maker. Babe follows Drophy’s rapid instructions, while she organizes the battlefield around his strength.

Lassoo is the gun-dog that supplies Babe with explosive baseballs. Babe treats Lassoo as both a pet and an essential part of his combat style.

Crocodile employs Babe as an Officer Agent and assigns him to Operation Utopia. Zala and Bones Daz are among the fellow Officer Agents who assemble with him before the final operation.

Usopp and Tony Tony Chopper defeat Babe by redirecting his power against his own team. Marianne later helps free him from Marine captivity.
