Zeru

Zeru is confident, aggressive and proud of his fire-based abilities. He regards his destructive power as sufficient reason for opponents to fear him and approaches his tournament match with little hesitation.

He is also quick to underestimate unfamiliar techniques. His confidence against Hiei rests partly on his own mastery of flame and his assumption that he understands the limits of fire-based combat.

Unlike Chuu, Zeru shows little interest in forming a bond with an opponent through fighting. His demeanor is that of a competitor intent on demonstrating superiority as quickly as possible.

Zeru manipulates fire through demon energy. He can surround himself with a blazing aura intense enough to burn nearby objects and discourage opponents from approaching directly.

He can project powerful bursts of flame at range and channel fire into close-range attacks. His control is sufficient to make much of the arena dangerous during his match.

His demon energy places him among Team Rokuyukai's stronger members, although Chuu possesses greater overall fighting ability.

Zeru competes for Team Rokuyukai when it faces Team Urameshi in the first round of the Dark Tournament. His display of firepower establishes him as a serious threat before his match begins.

He is paired against Hiei, who has been developing a dangerous new technique involving flames from Demon World.

Zeru initially appears to overwhelm Hiei with fire, but Hiei reveals that his own technique operates on an entirely different level. The Dragon of the Darkness Flame consumes Zeru completely, giving Hiei a decisive victory.

The match serves as the first full demonstration of the Dragon of the Darkness Flame and establishes the enormous danger of Hiei's newly acquired technique.

Hiei is Zeru's Dark Tournament opponent. Hiei defeats him with the Dragon of the Darkness Flame after Zeru's own fire attacks fail to stop him.

Chuu is the true leader and strongest fighter of Team Rokuyukai despite Zeru initially occupying the visible leadership position.

Rinku is one of Zeru's Team Rokuyukai companions.

Koto officiates Zeru's match and is forced away from the arena by the intensity of the fighters' fire techniques.
