Yui Toyokawa

Yui is quiet, gentle and most comfortable speaking with her brother. She enjoys playing the ocarina and is genuinely skilled despite Shouta teasing her about producing wrong notes.

Even while absorbed, Yui repeatedly resists the Arrancar’s control. She warns Shouta away and uses her music to guide his allies toward the creature’s concealed body.

Yui possesses unusually strong spiritual energy for a Plus. Her power enables a Hollow to become an imperfect Arrancar and generate numerous physical clones.

The Cloning Arrancar uses a duplicate of Yui to manipulate Shouta and can compel him through an eerie melody. Yui’s consciousness intermittently regains control, disrupting the creature’s commands.

Yui dies with her family in a traffic collision and searches for her parents alongside Shōta Toyokawa. A Hollow attacks her after she wanders away alone; when Shouta returns, she has disappeared.

Yui is found apparently unharmed, but Konsō fails because the body is a construct linked to the Cloning Arrancar. The original creature eventually reabsorbs her. Her ocarina reveals its hiding place, allowing Shouta and Rangiku to destroy it and release Yui’s soul.

Shōta Toyokawa is Yui’s older brother and protector. Their unnamed parents die alongside them.

Rangiku Matsumoto gives Yui an ocarina and helps free her. Tōshirō Hitsugaya recognizes that her apparent body cannot receive Konsō and orders the investigation into its spiritual signature.
