Yashiro

Yashiro receives little characterization away from baseball. His role is that of a regular supporting player whose importance comes from his place in Seishuu's complete defensive and batting lineup.

Yashiro bats and throws right-handed and specializes in left field. He wears number 7, the conventional scorecard number associated with that position, and bats ninth for Seishuu.

No signature offensive technique is established for him. His regular selection nevertheless makes him one of the nine players trusted to support the team's stronger pitchers and hitters in official competition.

Yashiro belongs to the group of Seishuu Middle School baseball players who later form part of the high-school program. He plays alongside Aoba in the middle-school environment, where she is permitted to participate in practice games despite restrictions on official competition.

He subsequently becomes Seishuu High School's starting left fielder. Yashiro retains that role through Seishuu's final prefectural campaign, making him part of the lineup that ultimately earns a place at Koshien.

Aoba Tsukishima is Yashiro's contemporary from Seishuu Middle School and continues practicing with the high-school team.

Mitani, Hama and Ehara are fellow players who move from Seishuu Middle School into the high-school baseball program.

Kou Kitamura, Osamu Akaishi, Yuuhei Azuma, Daiki Nakanishi and Keiichirou Senda become Yashiro's regular teammates in Seishuu's principal lineup.
