Yamainu

Yamainu receives little individual characterization. He behaves primarily as a professional member of Snake's band, following orders and participating in collective operations rather than pursuing an independent agenda.

Like the other Guests, his livelihood depends on armed service. He operates within a rough mercenary culture but accepts Snake's authority as the person responsible for directing the group.

Yamainu is a professional guard accustomed to carrying weapons, patrolling property, tracking fugitives, and joining larger defensive actions.

No named technique, specialized martial art, or exceptional feat separates him from the other ordinary members of Snake's unit.

His experience nevertheless places him above an untrained farmhand in the kind of violent situations for which Ketil employs the Guests.

Yamainu first appears during the crisis surrounding Gardar, when Snake's mercenaries are hunting an escaped and highly dangerous slave around Ketil's estate.

He remains among the Guests through the subsequent upheaval on the farm.

When Canute's royal army arrives, Yamainu is one of the armed men connected to the farm's defense, bringing the comparatively small mercenary group into a conflict far beyond its ordinary responsibilities.

Hebi is Yamainu's commander and leader of the Guests.

Ketil employs Yamainu and the other mercenaries to protect his estate.

Gardar is the escaped slave whose arrival triggers one of the Guests' most dangerous manhunts.

Anaguma, Kumo, and Mogura serve in the same mercenary group.
