Anaguma

Anaguma is rough, teasing, and comfortable with the violent culture shared by many of Ketil's hired guards. He and Fox initially treat Olmar's insecurity as entertainment rather than something requiring sympathy.

Like the other Guests, he does not behave as a conventional noble retainer. The group is composed of armed men with implied criminal or violent pasts who have found comparatively stable employment guarding farmland.

He nevertheless follows Snake's leadership and participates in the Guests' responsibilities protecting the estate.

Anaguma is an experienced armed guard with the practical combat ability expected of a professional mercenary.

His work includes night patrols, deterring thieves, capturing intruders, and supporting the other Guests during serious security incidents.

Canon does not establish a specialized fighting style or named technique for him, and he is not portrayed on the extraordinary level of Snake or the saga's elite warriors.

Anaguma is introduced drinking with Fox and Olmar on Ketil's farm. The guards listen to Olmar complain about being treated as a child and encourage his desire to prove himself through violence.

The conversation leads Fox to suggest that Olmar kill one of Ketil's slaves, on the reasoning that slaves are among the few people the young master can attack without facing serious consequences.

This draws Olmar into the confrontation involving Thorfinn and Einar.

Anaguma later continues serving with the Guests during the escalating instability around Ketil's farm. After the battle with Canute's army and the collapse of Ketil's authority, Anaguma remains on the estate with Snake and the surviving guards as the farm moves toward a different future.

Snake is Anaguma's commander and leader of the Guests.

Fox is his fellow mercenary and drinking companion.

Olmar becomes the target of Fox and Anaguma's teasing when the young man complains that others do not treat him as an adult.

Ketil employs Anaguma and the other Guests to protect his farm.

Thorfinn and Einar become involved when the guards encourage Olmar to prove himself by killing slaves.
