Yakumo

Yakumo is proud, calculating, and driven by resentment toward Spirit World. He regards the ancient banishment of the Netherworld as an injustice to be reversed and shows little concern for the destruction his restoration plan would cause elsewhere.

He behaves with the confidence of a sovereign rather than an ordinary criminal, delegating important work to his three demon gods and expecting obedience. Even powerful opponents are treated as obstacles to his larger political goal rather than personal rivals.

His determination becomes increasingly obsessive once the Power Sphere is within reach. Yakumo is willing to absorb enormous quantities of supernatural energy and destabilize multiple realms if doing so can restore his kingdom.

Yakumo possesses powerful Netherworld energy and is physically capable of overwhelming Yuusuke during their early confrontation. His attacks rely heavily on concentrated supernatural energy rather than conventional weapons.

He demonstrates telekinesis, including the ability to lift and restrain people while searching for the item necessary to advance his plan. He can also generate barriers, energy blasts, and large-scale destructive attacks.

After obtaining the Power Sphere and drawing on the energy gathered from the spiritual sites, Yakumo's power increases dramatically. He becomes strong enough that Yuusuke cannot defeat him through an ordinary Spirit Gun and requires the combined support of his allies.

Yakumo's forces trigger the flooding of Spirit World at the beginning of Poltergeist Report. The catastrophe is connected to the Netherworld, a fourth realm that had previously been defeated and banished by Great King Enma.

He sends his three principal servants to seize energy from five spiritual sites in the Human World while searching for the Power Sphere hidden through Spirit World's emergency response. This brings him into conflict with Yuusuke, Kuwabara, Kurama, Hiei, and Hinageshi.

Yakumo eventually acquires the power he needs and confronts Team Urameshi directly. Yuusuke is initially overwhelmed, but the combined energies of Kuwabara, Kurama, and Hiei help stabilize and empower him enough to fire a decisive Spirit Gun against Yakumo.

Great King Enma is the ruler whose forces previously defeated the Netherworld and sealed away Yakumo's power, making Spirit World's leadership the historical source of Yakumo's resentment.

Yuusuke Urameshi becomes Yakumo's principal opponent when he tries to prevent the restoration of the Netherworld.

Hinageshi possesses knowledge of the Netherworld crisis and helps guide Yuusuke's team toward the spiritual sites Yakumo needs.

Majari, Raiko, and Kuronue serve as Yakumo's three principal demon gods during the campaign.
