Hinageshi

Hinageshi is lively, helpful, and persistent. She quickly involves herself in the effort to counter the Netherworld invasion and does not retreat simply because Yuusuke and his companions are substantially stronger combatants.

Her personality is more openly excitable than Kurama or Hiei's, and she frequently serves as the person who explains what is happening while the others concentrate on fighting.

Hinageshi also shows courage when directly confronted by Yakumo's forces. Although she is not one of the team's primary fighters, she continues helping despite becoming a target herself.

Hinageshi possesses spiritual awareness and knowledge appropriate to a Spirit World guide. She understands the nature of the five spiritual locations required to restore the balance between realms and can lead Yuusuke's group to them.

She is capable of moving through supernatural environments inaccessible to ordinary humans and recognizes the mechanisms surrounding Netherworld energy.

Hinageshi is not depicted as a major combatant on the level of Yuusuke, Hiei, Kurama, or Kuwabara. Her principal value lies in navigation, information, and Spirit World expertise.

Hinageshi appears after the catastrophic flooding of Spirit World and becomes involved when the injured Botan can no longer perform her normal duties. She explains that five points in the Human World contain the spiritual energy necessary to repair the damage.

She travels with Yuusuke, Kuwabara, Kurama, and Hiei as they race against Yakumo's servants to secure the sites. The mission gradually reveals that the Netherworld forces intend to use the same energy to erase Spirit World and restore their own banished realm.

Hinageshi remains with Team Urameshi through the final confrontation and witnesses the defeat of Yakumo and the restoration of balance after the Netherworld invasion is stopped.

Botan is a fellow Spirit World guide whose injury during the Netherworld disaster leaves Hinageshi taking a more active role in guiding Yuusuke.

Yuusuke Urameshi becomes Hinageshi's principal ally during the crisis.

Kazuma Kuwabara, Kurama, and Hiei accompany Hinageshi while searching for the five spiritual sites.

Yakumo is the ruler responsible for the Netherworld assault and therefore Hinageshi's principal enemy.
