Twi Chang

Tui is stern, decisive and intimidating enough that researchers around her are careful not to provoke her. Edgar Chang Martin, despite being her husband and colleague, is particularly susceptible to her anger.

Her severity does not prevent her from caring about the artificial children under the branch's supervision. She becomes emotionally invested in their welfare even while participating in the program responsible for creating them.

Tui eventually recognizes the horror produced by the Second Exorcist experiments and carries guilt over her participation, particularly after Alma learns what was done to create him and Kanda.

Tui inherits the ancient magical abilities of the Chang clan, whose sorcery is deeply connected to the Asian Branch and its guardian systems.

She is also a scientist and administrator, overseeing the technical side of the Second Exorcist Program. Her work involves the artificial bodies designed to house the brains and Innocence compatibility of deceased Exorcists.

Her expertise therefore combines supernatural Chang-family techniques with the Black Order's experimental science.

Tui appears principally through the history of the Asian Branch. As head of the Chang clan and a senior researcher, she supervises the technical implementation of the Second Exorcist Program.

The project produces Alma Karma and Yu Kanda by placing the brains of deceased Exorcists into artificially created bodies. Tui and the other researchers initially conceal the children's origins from them while monitoring the memories that begin resurfacing.

Alma's discovery of the truth causes the laboratory to collapse into violence, making Tui one of the adults directly confronted with the consequences of the program.

Bak Chang is Tui's son and later succeeds to a leading position within the Asian Branch.

Edgar Chang Martin is Tui's husband and fellow researcher. Their marriage was arranged before their births, but Edgar genuinely loves her and works under her leadership at the branch.

Alma Karma and Yu Kanda are the artificial children produced by the Second Exorcist Program Tui helps operate. Her involvement in their creation becomes a source of guilt when the truth of the experiment is exposed.
