Thoma

Thoma is playful, mischievous and somewhat cowardly. He and Lannion regularly pull pranks together, and the two share similar blunt, energetic personalities.

Fear does not prevent Thoma from helping when the family needs him. Once brought into the escape preparations, he applies his creativity to practical problems rather than simply relying on the older children's plans.

As he experiences life outside Grace Field, Thoma becomes more capable and dependable while retaining much of his energetic personality.

Thoma possesses no supernatural abilities, but he is inventive and mechanically resourceful for his age. Together with Lannion, he develops a water-bottle rocket system capable of carrying rope across substantial distances.

That device becomes essential during the Grace Field escape, allowing the children to establish a line across the ravine surrounding the plantation.

Later survival training gives Thoma experience with wilderness travel, gathering resources and weapons used by the escapees.

Thoma initially appears among the younger Grace Field children and frequently accompanies Lannion. He is eventually brought into the escape plan with Lannion, Anna and Nat.

During the escape, Thoma and Lannion's rope-launching device helps the children cross the ravine that Isabella believed would prevent them from leaving. He escapes with the children old enough to make the journey while the youngest remain behind.

In the manga, Thoma continues traveling with Emma's family through the forest, Shelter B06-32 and the later conflicts involving the farms.

Lannion is Thoma's best friend and constant prank partner. They frequently work together and jointly devise the rope-launching device used during the escape.

Emma is an older sister figure whom Thoma trusts and follows once the escape plan expands to include him.

Anna and Nat learn the truth alongside Thoma and Lannion and become part of the same expanded planning group.
