Anna

Anna is gentle, considerate and strong-willed despite her quiet demeanor. She cares deeply for her siblings and readily accepts responsibilities needed to keep the group functioning.

She is less impulsive than several of the other children and becomes dependable in stressful situations. Her willingness to learn practical skills later makes her especially useful when injuries and illnesses threaten the escapees.

Anna possesses no supernatural abilities. Her strengths are practical skills developed during life outside Grace Field.

She learns first aid and medical treatment, eventually assisting with injuries and illnesses within the group. She also contributes to gardening, cooking and other tasks necessary for maintaining the shelter.

During the Grace Field escape, Anna cuts off her long braids so they can be used as part of Ray's decoy, demonstrating her willingness to sacrifice something personal for the plan.

Anna begins as one of the middle-aged children within Grace Field's large sibling group. She is brought into the escape plan after Don and Gilda expand the number of children who know the truth.

She escapes Grace Field with the older group and adapts to life in the demon world. At Shelter B06-32, she learns medical skills from Lucas and becomes increasingly capable of treating her siblings.

Her medical knowledge later becomes particularly important when Chris is gravely injured, and Anna participates in the efforts to keep him alive while the group searches for medicine.

Emma is an older sister figure whom Anna follows during the escape and later journeys.

Nat, Thoma and Lannion enter the expanded escape plan alongside Anna.

Lucas teaches Anna medical and survival skills at the shelter, helping her become one of the family's principal caregivers.

Ray benefits directly from Anna's contribution to the escape when she cuts her braids for the decoy used in his staged death.

Chris becomes one of Anna's most important patients after suffering a severe head injury.
