Skullion Raider

Skullion is arrogant and predatory, regarding dragons primarily in terms of whether their power is worth consuming. He tends to dismiss opponents he considers beneath him and speaks with confidence even against experienced Fairy Tail mages. Unlike Kiria, however, he rarely allows the pleasure of combat to override the team's larger objective.

That practicality establishes him as the group's field leader. When continuing a battle becomes strategically pointless, Skullion is willing to withdraw and can force his companions to retreat with him. He is also perceptive enough to notice changes in an opponent's magical condition, including recognizing when Mercphobia no longer possesses the power Skullion expected.

Skullion's Corpse Dragon Slayer Magic gives him control over ash. He can transform his own body into ash, causing conventional physical attacks to pass through him, and can move through the air while dispersed. He can also manipulate surrounding matter by reducing it to ash, including water, ice and fire.

Black Ash allows him to turn targets into ash and relocate them, a property he uses both offensively and to extract his allies from battle. Corpse Dragon's Utter Ash creates a large vortex capable of converting surrounding matter. He can solidify ash into platforms, restraints and larger structures as well.

His ash form is not invulnerable. Powerful wind can disperse his ash and force him back into a tangible state. Skullion additionally possesses Telepathy, allowing remote communication with allies.

Skullion arrives during Diabolos's hunt for Mercphobia and quickly establishes the difference between the Dragon Eaters and Team Natsu. Where Fairy Tail has accepted a mission to seal the Dragon Gods, Skullion's group wants to kill and consume them to gain their power.

His early battles demonstrate the scale and versatility of Fifth Generation Dragon Slayer Magic. Skullion fights Natsu Dragneel and Wendy Marvell, clashes with Gray Fullbuster, and repeatedly uses his ash abilities to control the battlefield and relocate his teammates.

He continues acting as Team Skullion's leader during Diabolos's wider conflict with Fairy Tail, making decisions according to the guild's objective rather than Kiria's appetite for individual battles.

Kiria is one of Skullion's principal teammates. Her combat ability is valuable, but her impulsive desire to continue fighting sometimes forces Skullion to intervene and remove her from situations against her wishes.

Madmole is Skullion's other regular teammate and generally follows his tactical decisions more readily. Their powers work well together, combining Madmole's defense with Skullion's battlefield control and mobility.

Georg Reizen is the Diabolos Guild Master under whom Skullion and his team pursue dragons. The guild's culture of consuming dragons shapes Skullion's objectives throughout his early appearances.

Mercphobia is one of Team Skullion's initial targets. Skullion's ability to recognize the condition of Mercphobia's power affects the group's decision about whether the Water Dragon God remains worth consuming.

Gray Fullbuster, Natsu Dragneel and Wendy Marvell become recurring opponents as Fairy Tail and Diabolos pursue incompatible objectives.

Kiria and Madmole ultimately form the core trio identified with Skullion's team, with Skullion providing the leadership and extraction abilities that keep the unit coordinated.
