Simon Kagomura

Simon is reserved, disciplined, pragmatic, and frequently intimidating toward people he does not know. He treats Keeper work seriously and has little patience for anyone who underestimates how dangerous uncontrolled Choujin can become.

His severity does not make him needlessly cruel. Simon recognizes inexperience and is capable of teaching rather than punishing it. Around people he trusts, a more encouraging side appears; during Tokio's flight training, for example, he proves capable of patient and constructive support.

Much of Simon's seriousness comes from the history carried by his family. The destruction suffered by the Kagomura clan left him with a powerful sense of obligation toward the abilities and reputation inherited from previous generations.

Simon is a Sword Choujin whose signature ability, Loaned Sword, is preserved through tattoos made with ink containing the blood of the Kagomura lineage. By touching particular tattoos, he can manifest swords associated with abilities inherited from earlier members of the clan.

His arsenal includes Pierced Viscera, a powerful penetrating blade, and Kurakushi, which can paralyze targets through electrical effects. Auxiliary techniques let Simon duplicate manifested swords, enlarge them dramatically, teleport their position through Heaven Set, or control their movement remotely through Master Sword. Producing multiple or particularly elaborate manifestations consumes substantial stamina.

Like other Choujin, Simon possesses Raise. Continued training significantly improves the speed, precision, scale, and versatility with which he controls Loaned Sword, allowing him to function as both a direct attacker and a battlefield-support fighter.

Simon enters Tokio's story as one of the Yamato Mori Keepers responding to the inexperienced Beast Choujin's encounter with Nari. He quickly demonstrates the gulf between newly awakened Choujin and trained professionals.

As Tokio and Ely begin learning about Yamato Mori, Simon becomes one of the experienced young Keepers around them. His approach emphasizes that possessing an ability does not automatically make someone prepared for the violence surrounding Choujin.

Simon belongs to a lineage once celebrated as a powerful clan of Sword Choujin. The Kagomura family's abilities were preserved across generations through its tattoos, but the clan later became a target for Choujin seeking valuable powers. Simon survived the resulting devastation and carries both its techniques and its burden forward.

His inherited arsenal becomes increasingly important as Yamato Mori faces larger organized threats, with Simon eventually applying Loaned Sword on a scale far beyond the techniques shown during Tokio's earliest training.

Maiko Momoma is Simon's longtime friend and regular Keeper partner. Maiko Momoma's friendliness offsets Simon's colder manner, and the two work naturally as a team.

Tokio Kurohara initially meets Simon as an inexperienced Choujin. Simon is stern with Tokio Kurohara but later takes a more active role in helping him develop, including assisting with flight training.

Ely Otta encounters Simon during the fight with Nari and subsequently becomes a fellow member of Yamato Mori.

Nari Tsumiji fights Simon after attacking Tokio and Ely. Simon's arrival immediately changes the balance of their confrontation.

Sora Siruha is historically connected to the Kagomura clan. Earlier generations of Simon's family fought as part of the military force associated with her during the Great Choujin War, leaving his inherited techniques tied to Yamato's history.
