Shion

Shion initially appears aloof, demanding, and disturbingly accepting of other people dying in her place. Years of unavoidable death visions have convinced her that fate cannot be resisted, causing her to keep emotional distance from her attendants.

Naruto's refusal to accept her prophecy challenges this worldview. His insistence that both of them can survive gradually encourages Shion to value her own choices rather than treating the future as predetermined.

Shion possesses supernatural priestess powers inherited through her maternal line. She can perceive future deaths and perform the sealing ritual capable of containing Mōryō.

Her bell acts as an important focus for those abilities. When her full power emerges, her chakra becomes potent enough to combine with Naruto's Rasengan during the confrontation with Mōryō.

Shion is targeted by Yomi because her sealing ability represents the greatest threat to Mōryō. Naruto Uzumaki, Sakura Haruno, Rock Lee, and Neji Hyūga are assigned to escort her to the shrine containing Mōryō's body.

Shion eventually rejects the fatalistic interpretation of her visions and combines her chakra with Naruto's to destroy Mōryō. Afterwards, she tells Naruto that the priestess line must continue and asks whether he will help her produce an heir, a double meaning Naruto fails to understand.

Miroku is Shion's mother and predecessor as priestess. Her decisions shape both Shion's powers and her guarded upbringing.

Taruho is Shion's most loyal bodyguard and repeatedly risks his life to protect her. Naruto Uzumaki becomes the person who most directly challenges her belief in fixed destiny. Yomi seeks to eliminate her so that Mōryō can be restored.
