Sherumi

Sherumi is dutiful, inquisitive and shy around unfamiliar people. Like Menae, she becomes curious about Reg and the similarities between his unusual body and the bodies of Hail Hex's Juusou.

The twins are also playful once they become comfortable with Riko's party. Sherumi usually remains close to Menae, and their behavior emphasizes the strength of their sibling bond.

She shows clear affection for other members of Hail Hex, particularly Nishagora, whom the twins happily approach and allow to carry them.

Sherumi lacks natural arms and legs and uses advanced Artifact prostheses. Third Works serve as replacement legs, while additional artificial components provide functional arms.

She specializes in coordinated ranged combat with Menae. The twins' synchronization allows them to attack as a single combat unit despite their severe physical alterations.

Sherumi can enter a released state that increases her combat capabilities. Together with Menae, she can launch attacks capable of damaging extremely dangerous creatures encountered during Hail Hex's deeper expedition.

Sherumi appears when Riko's party encounters Hail Hex at its Sixth Layer camp. She and Menae observe Reg's fight with Nishagora and question whether Reg might be similar to themselves.

Srajo subsequently identifies the twins as Juusou—Narehate born in the Abyss rather than humans transformed later by the Curse. Their existence exposes Riko's group to a category of people deliberately hidden from most cave raiders.

Sherumi and Menae join the combined expedition into the Seventh Layer, where the physical limits of their Artifact-supported bodies become an increasingly urgent concern.

Menae is Sherumi's twin brother and constant combat partner. They operate together as Hail Hex's Snipers.

Srajo commands Sherumi and can direct the twins during specialized combat operations.

Nishagora is a fellow Hail Hex member whom Sherumi and Menae greet affectionately.

Reg interests Sherumi because of his unusual body and its possible similarities to Juusou or other deep-Abyss beings.

Nanachi protects the twins during an attack while the combined expedition is traveling deeper into the Abyss.
