Ruko Gachi

Ruko is hardworking and responsible, balancing her veterinary career with raising a large family. The demands of the animal hospital can leave her dependent on both Nasu-san and Gorilla to keep the household functioning.

She cares about her children and does not treat Gorilla's help as evidence that he should simply shoulder every responsibility himself. The family's circumstances nevertheless mean that Gorilla often steps forward voluntarily when something needs to be done.

Her relatively grounded demeanor helps explain where Gorilla's own kindness and willingness to help others originate.

Ruko is an ordinary human without established supernatural abilities. Her principal expertise is veterinary medicine.

She operates the Gachi family's animal hospital and is capable of treating its animal patients while Nasu-san normally manages reception. The arrangement lets her concentrate on medical work despite the additional demands of raising five children.

Ruko is introduced through the first substantial exploration of Gorilla Gachi's home life. Until then, Bondo primarily knows Gachi as his extraordinarily strong, gorilla-faced classmate and best friend.

When Nasu-san malfunctions, the animal hospital loses its usual receptionist. Ruko still has patients to treat, and Gorilla decides to cover the front desk rather than make Ruri or the younger children do it. As a result, he misses plans with his friends.

The episode reveals that Gachi's kindness is not confined to his friendships at school. At home, he routinely helps Ruko with the responsibilities created by the family's veterinary practice and his younger siblings.

Gorilla Gachi is Ruko's eldest son. He frequently helps her by caring for his siblings and taking responsibility around the animal hospital.

Ruri Gachi is Ruko's daughter and an aspiring manga artist.

Goriji Gachi, Rumi Gachi and Gorisuke Gachi are Ruko's younger children and complete the five-sibling Gachi household.

Nasu-san is the OrderMaid employed by the family and normally works as the receptionist at Ruko's animal hospital.
