Gorilla Gachi

Gachi looks and sounds like the stereotypical schoolyard bully, but his behavior consistently contradicts that first impression. He is kind, loyal and exceptionally considerate, often noticing when someone is struggling and helping without expecting recognition. His friendship with Bondo and Motsuo Kaneo is genuine rather than competitive.

Family responsibility is equally important to him. As the oldest of several siblings, Gachi helps his mother with childcare and household responsibilities. He can be protective without becoming controlling, particularly toward Ruri Gachi, whose ambitions he takes seriously.

Gachi is also comfortable being emotionally open with his friends. Many jokes involving him begin with other characters expecting crude or aggressive behavior, only for Gachi to respond with unexpected maturity or generosity.

Gachi is an ordinary human, but his physical capabilities are deliberately exaggerated for comedy. He possesses tremendous strength for an elementary school student and is exceptionally tough and athletic. Activities that would exhaust or injure most children rarely trouble him.

His large build makes him effective in sports and physical challenges. The manga frequently treats his strength with the same exaggerated logic used for Roboco's abilities, although Gachi does not possess an established supernatural power system or named magic.

Beyond raw strength, Gachi has considerable stamina and resilience. These qualities complement his instinct to protect others, making him the member of Bondo's ordinary human friend group most naturally suited to physical challenges.

Gachi is introduced alongside Motsuo as one of Bondo's two closest friends. Although their intimidating behavior initially makes them resemble bullies, the series quickly establishes that both boys sincerely care about Bondo. They become fixtures of his everyday adventures with Roboco.

His home life expands the character beyond the central trio. Stories involving his family show Gachi caring for younger siblings and introduce Ruri, whose manga ambitions connect the Gachi household to the series' extensive jokes about Weekly Shonen Jump and manga production.

Gachi also regularly joins Bondo and Motsuo for school activities, outdoor trips, sports, games and the increasingly absurd incidents caused by Roboco. His combination of physical toughness and emotional sensitivity makes him both a source of physical comedy and one of the group's most reliable friends.

Bondo Taira is one of Gachi's best friends. Gachi repeatedly supports him through school problems and Roboco-related chaos and takes their friendship extremely seriously.

Motsuo Kaneo completes Gachi and Bondo's core trio. Gachi and Motsuo share the same fierce loyalty to Bondo despite their radically different backgrounds and abilities.

Ruri Gachi is Gachi's younger sister. He supports her interests and takes his responsibilities as her older brother seriously.

Roboco becomes part of Gachi's wider circle through Bondo. Her bizarre strength and behavior repeatedly pull him and his friends into unusual situations.
