Richigi Eburi

Eburi is extremely reluctant to look directly at other people. He habitually hides his face behind his tablet and avoids making eye contact during conversation.

His reserved presentation does not prevent him from participating in the academy's collective activities. As a counselor, he works with students whose personalities and problems can be considerably more extreme than those found in an ordinary classroom.

The material surrounding him remains comparatively sparse, so his established characterization centers on his avoidance of eye contact and his professional responsibilities.

No supernatural Abnormality, Minus or Style is established for Eburi.

His professional abilities lie in counseling, education and mathematics. His eventual assignment to Class -13 places him in charge of a class specifically associated with students whose negative mentalities make conventional education difficult.

Eburi's background establishes him as one of Hakoniwa Academy's counselors before he takes responsibility for Class -13. His work with the class is developed more substantially in supplementary novel material than in the primary manga.

He appears in the manga near the end of Medaka's time at Hakoniwa, gathering with other faculty members as part of the elaborate sequence arranged around her departure.

During Medaka's 100 Flowers Run, Eburi joins the faculty members waiting to challenge her. His message to Medaka is that she should not lose to society, offering professional advice suited to a counselor watching a student prepare to leave school.

Medaka Kurokami is one of the students Eburi encounters as a member of Hakoniwa Academy's faculty. He participates in her 100 Flowers Run and tells her not to lose to society.

Hakama Shiranui is Hakoniwa Academy's chairman and joins Eburi and other adults during Medaka's final challenge.

Messhi Kuguhara is a fellow faculty member whom Eburi and the other teachers await near the Student Council office.

Sanagi Naginoura is another member of Hakoniwa Academy's faculty who participates in the teachers' involvement near graduation.
