Prushka

Prushka is cheerful, affectionate and adventurous. Her isolated upbringing has left her inexperienced with ordinary social life, but not withdrawn; she embraces Riko almost immediately and eagerly listens to stories about traveling through the Abyss. She has considerable mental resilience, having recovered from severe effects of the Curse during childhood.

Her defining attachment is to Bondrewd. Prushka regards him as a loving father and has difficulty reconciling other people's fear and hatred of him with the person who raised her. This loyalty is sincere rather than coerced in any simple sense, making her relationship with him particularly complicated.

She is also remarkably stubborn. Prushka repeatedly challenged the Fifth Layer's Curse while learning about it and dreams of eventually exploring alongside her new friends.

Prushka is human and lacks the extraordinary physical capabilities of Reg or Nanachi. Growing up in the Fifth Layer nevertheless gives her familiarity with Ido Front and with the dangers of the Abyss that most children from the surface would never encounter directly.

She owns Meinya, a Meinastilim given to her by Bondrewd for her tenth birthday. The scent of Meinya's fur allows Prushka and others to perceive the Abyss's force field well enough to find paths through it that reduce exposure to the Curse.

Prushka possesses the exceptional devotion required for her remains to become a Life-reverberating Stone. The resulting White Whistle responds to Riko and can awaken the true power of certain Relics.

Prushka welcomes Riko's group to Ido Front and quickly becomes Riko's friend. Her enthusiasm for their journey contrasts with the increasingly hostile conflict between the travelers and Bondrewd.

As that conflict escalates, Prushka remains emotionally caught between her love for her father and her growing attachment to Riko's group. Her perspective demonstrates that Bondrewd is capable of knowing and remembering the people around him while still subjecting them to his research.

Bondrewd ultimately turns Prushka into one of his cartridges, using her love for him to receive the Blessing while she absorbs the Curse directed at him. After the cartridge is destroyed, a Life-reverberating Stone formed from Prushka remains behind.

Riko receives the stone, which is subsequently carved into her White Whistle. Prushka therefore continues accompanying Riko's descent in another form and becomes the White Whistle that Riko uses to activate the latent power of Relics such as Reg.

Bondrewd is Prushka's adoptive father and the person she loves most. He deliberately cultivates their bond so that Prushka can become a cartridge capable of granting him the Blessing, while still displaying genuine knowledge of and affection toward her.

Riko becomes Prushka's first close friend from outside Ido Front. Prushka's Life-reverberating Stone ultimately becomes Riko's White Whistle, allowing her to continue accompanying Riko's journey.

Reg is one of the travelers Prushka hopes to adventure with, although his violent conflict with her father initially distresses her.

Nanachi already knows the truth about Bondrewd's research and understands the danger surrounding Prushka more clearly than she does.

Meinya is Prushka's beloved pet, given to her by Bondrewd on her tenth birthday.
