Nova

Nova is shy, polite and exceptionally reserved. He speaks in short phrases and hides his face by closing his hood whenever embarrassment becomes overwhelming.

His quiet temperament makes Chad a natural partner. Nova remains cooperative even when the more forceful members of his team argue, and his concern for companions consistently outweighs his discomfort.

Nova manipulates space, teleporting himself or other people to places he knows. He can also open portals that redirect physical objects and energy attacks, sometimes returning them toward their source.

The shield worn on his back assists his defensive use of spatial distortions. His plush body is less physically capable than his Gigai, but his core Modified Soul abilities remain available.

Nova, Ririn and Kuroud initially subject Ichigo’s group to staged kidnapping games designed to test their judgment and teamwork. Urahara then reveals that the trio were created to locate the Bounts.

Nova supports Chad during the subsequent investigation and battles, using teleportation to move allies and counter hostile attacks. He survives the Bount conflict, remains at the Urahara Shop and later makes brief anime-only appearances.

Yasutora Sado is Nova’s assigned partner and closest temperamental match. Both are quiet, dependable and inclined to protect others without unnecessary conversation.

Ririn and Kuroud are the other Bount-detection Modified Souls. Kisuke Urahara created and directs the trio. Nova becomes embarrassed around Rukia Kuchiki and Rangiku Matsumoto, but no romance is established.
