Nobuo Muroya

Muroya is aggressive, confident and intensely competitive. Four successful clears have left him accustomed to surviving situations that would terrify new participants, and he behaves as though the Osaka veterans stand above ordinary hunters.

He enjoys the violence of Gantz and approaches targets with a manic enthusiasm for accumulating points. Cooperation matters when an enemy requires it, but competition between Osaka's strongest hunters remains an important part of how they approach missions.

His confidence is not baseless. Muroya has repeatedly survived enough hunts to reach 100 points, making him one of the most experienced players encountered by the Tokyo team.

Muroya is a highly experienced Gantz combatant proficient with the suit and advanced weaponry available to repeat players.

He combines enhanced physical abilities with extensive knowledge of how Gantz targets behave and how to pursue points efficiently. His four previous clears demonstrate a long record of successful missions.

Muroya is capable of fighting extremely powerful yokai alongside other Osaka veterans, although the Nurarihyon mission confronts the team with opponents far beyond the difficulty they have grown accustomed to.

Muroya appears when the Tokyo hunters are unexpectedly transferred to Osaka. He effectively acts as the local team's leader and initially shows little interest in cooperating with Masaru Katou and the newcomers.

The Osaka veterans divide their attention among the enormous number of yokai targets, treating the hunt competitively until several exceptionally powerful bosses appear.

Muroya joins Joji Shimaki in battling the Tengu and Inugami. Despite his previous success in Gantz, the Tengu overwhelms him, and he is killed during the confrontation.

Miho Yamanaka is Muroya's girlfriend and fellow Osaka hunter. Their relationship gives him a personal connection within a team otherwise dominated by competition and violent bravado.

Joji Shimaki is another elite Osaka veteran who has repeatedly reached 100 points. Nobuo Muroya and Joji Shimaki fight some of the Nurarihyon mission's strongest targets together.

Kazuo Kuwabara is another multiple-clear veteran and part of the experienced core surrounding Muroya.

Hachiro Oka is Osaka's most accomplished hunter, having accumulated far more 100-point clears than Muroya and possessing equipment unavailable to ordinary players.

Masaru Katou encounters Muroya after the Tokyo team arrives in Osaka and immediately sees the difference between Osaka's competitive hunting culture and his own attempts to save people.
