Miho Yamanaka

Miho is confident and accustomed to the extreme behavior of the veteran Osaka hunters. She does not react to the Gantz missions with the confusion typical of newcomers and moves through the battlefield as someone familiar with the game's dangers.

Her attachment to Muroya distinguishes her from teammates whose relationships are almost entirely competitive. She remains concerned with what happens to him even amid the Osaka team's general culture of reckless individualism.

The Nurarihyon mission also exposes the limits of her willingness to continue playing. The devastation suffered by the Osaka team leaves her wanting an ordinary life rather than another opportunity to accumulate points.

Miho is an experienced Gantz hunter familiar with the standard suit and weapons available to the Osaka team.

She is shown equipped for combat and capable of surviving an exceptionally lethal mission, but the manga does not establish her as one of Osaka's elite scorers on the level of Muroya, Kuwabara, Shimaki or Hachiro Oka.

Her experience is nevertheless sufficient for her to navigate the battlefield, recognize when retreat is necessary and assist wounded teammates.

Miho appears during the Nurarihyon mission when the Tokyo team discovers that Gantz operates through multiple regional groups. She initially remains associated with Muroya and the other Osaka veterans while they compete aggressively for kills.

After Muroya is mortally wounded fighting the Tengu Alien, Miho survives the wider destruction of the Osaka team. She and Sumiko later help carry the mutilated Kuwabara away from Nurarihyon.

After the mission, Miho decides that she has had enough of Gantz and chooses the 100-point option that releases her from the game and erases her memories of it.

Nobuo Muroya is Miho's boyfriend and one of the Osaka team's most prominent veteran hunters. She remains closely associated with Nobuo Muroya during the mission and is affected by the danger he faces.

Sumiko Yamada is Miho's close friend and fellow Osaka hunter. The two survive the Nurarihyon mission together and both decide to leave Gantz afterward.

Kazuo Kuwabara is another Osaka veteran. After he is horribly injured by Nurarihyon, Miho and Sumiko take responsibility for moving him away from the battlefield.

Masaru Katou and the Tokyo hunters fight alongside the surviving Osaka members once the mission's strongest enemy overwhelms the local team.
