Namaha

Namaha has a spirited, argumentative personality and regularly exchanges barbs with Gakko. She also embraces theatrics in battle, deliberately transforming herself into a much more frightening appearance in order to intimidate opponents.

Her composure changes completely around Alumi. Namaha is an enthusiastic fan of her and becomes visibly overwhelmed when she finally gets the opportunity to meet and speak with her.

Namaha can form O.S. Nama-Hage, in which she assumes a red-and-blue horned mask, tusks, long dark hair and a straw coat modeled after the traditional Namahage of Akita. Her arms and legs are extended by the manifestation, turning her deliberately frightening appearance into a functional combat form.

Her more specialized manifestation with Gakko is O.S. Ogre Hunter. Using a strange mask kept in Gakko's tracksuit as the medium, Namaha becomes armor covering his body. The equipment includes protective straw elements, a cannon around his left hand, a gauntlet and large knife for his right hand, and specialized components intended for fighting oni.

This partnership makes Namaha particularly effective against Hana's summoned demons. Gakko can use the Ogre Hunter equipment to counter hostile Furyoku and cut through oni that would present serious problems for less specialized shamans.

Namaha accompanies Gakko to Funbari Hill when he arrives to join Team Hao. Their early visit to the cemetery brings them into contact with Hana Asakura, whom Gakko initially treats as an amusing local opponent.

When Hana begins summoning oni, Namaha and Gakko reveal their specialized role. Namaha realizes during the battle that the boy they are fighting is actually Hana Asakura, the heir to the main Asakura family and the leader of their own Team Hao. Gakko nevertheless completes the fight and defeats Hana's Naka-Oni armor.

Namaha subsequently remains beside Gakko as Team Hao gathers for the Flower of Maize, serving both as his Guardian Ghost and as a vocal participant in the group's interactions.

Gakko Ibuki is Namaha's shaman and constant partner. Their relationship includes frequent bickering, but their combat abilities are closely coordinated.

Alumi Numbirch is someone Namaha greatly admires. Meeting Alumi causes the normally outspoken spirit to lose much of her composure.

Hana Asakura is Namaha and Gakko's first major opponent after arriving in Funbari Hill. Namaha realizes during their fight that Hana is actually their own team's leader.

Yohane Asakura and Tao Men are fellow members of the Team Hao group with which Namaha and Gakko become associated.
