Momo Momozono

Momo is aggressive, calculating and exceptionally comfortable with psychological warfare. Her small appearance does little to soften her confrontational behavior, and she rapidly establishes herself as the de facto leader among Medaka's suitors.

She understands that controlling what an opponent can say or know can matter more than physical strength. Momo therefore builds conflicts around restrictive rules, hostages and information rather than simply attacking stronger opponents directly.

Her confidence persists even against Medaka because Styles create contests that cannot always be solved through the straightforward superiority of an Abnormality.

Momo's Label User Style allows her to seal people into name cards. She can hold up to five people this way at once, removing their physical bodies from ordinary interaction and placing them beyond the effective reach of other skills while the seal persists.

Targets can eventually escape on their own, but the time required depends upon their ability. This makes the Style particularly useful for removing opponents or hostages from a conflict without having to defeat them conventionally.

Momo also excels at manipulating language. Her battles exploit omissions, restricted communication and carefully chosen rules, making her dangerous even when an opponent understands the basic function of her cards.

Momo enters as one of the six women selected for the second Jet Black Wedding Feast. She quickly becomes the principal organizer among the suitors and uses her Style to turn people into leverage against Medaka.

The confrontation eventually becomes a battle of language rather than physical force. Momo and the remaining competitors challenge Medaka under rules designed to prevent Medaka's overwhelming abilities from settling the issue directly.

Momo becomes Medaka's final opponent in delete shiritori, believing she has engineered a linguistic situation in which Medaka cannot win. Medaka instead manipulates conversations occurring throughout the contest so that Momo is eventually forced to end with "surrender."

Medaka Kurokami is Momo's intended bride and primary opponent during the Jet Black Wedding Feast. Their final confrontation becomes a prolonged game of delete shiritori that Medaka wins through large-scale manipulation of the available language.

Nashi Kurokami is Momo's aunt and a former member of the Momozono family.

Genjitsu Momozono is another member of the Momozono family associated with its distinctive traditions.

Namanie Nienami and Joutou Kotobuki are fellow suitors participating in the second Jet Black Wedding Feast.
