Mitsunari Yanagisawa

Yanagisawa is intelligent and mischievous, enjoying the confusion his Copy ability can create. His introduction deliberately makes him appear threatening, but his behavior is part of Genkai's attempt to teach Yusuke's group how dangerous unfamiliar psychic abilities can be.

He adapts quickly to unusual situations and cooperates readily once the real threat posed by Sensui's group becomes clear.

Yanagisawa's Territory ability is Copy. After touching someone, he can reproduce that person's appearance, voice, memories, personality traits and physical characteristics.

The imitation extends to spiritual properties closely enough that conventional supernatural sensing cannot easily distinguish Yanagisawa from the original. This makes Copy particularly effective for infiltration and deception.

The transformation is temporary, and Yanagisawa does not permanently steal the abilities or identity of the person copied.

Yanagisawa is introduced as part of Genkai's staged test for Yusuke, Kuwabara, Kurama and Hiei. Together with Kido and Kaito, he demonstrates that Territory users can defeat stronger opponents through specialized rules rather than raw power.

His Copy ability creates a test in which Yusuke must determine which apparently identical person is genuine.

Yanagisawa later assists during the investigation into Sensui's conspiracy. His psychic abilities become useful to the group as they attempt to identify and counter the other Territory users connected to the tunnel.

Asato Kido is one of Yanagisawa's fellow psychic students and allies.

Yuu Kaito is another member of the trio trained by Genkai.

Genkai teaches Yanagisawa and uses his Territory as part of the test she arranges for Yusuke's group.

Yusuke Urameshi is challenged by Yanagisawa's Copy ability during Genkai's demonstration.

Kurama, Hiei and Kazuma Kuwabara also encounter Yanagisawa through Genkai's Territory exercise.
