Mina Ashido

Mina is cheerful, outgoing, confident, and intensely social. She enjoys parties, shopping, dancing, gossip, and spending time with classmates, often becoming one of the people who pulls quieter students into group activities. Her expressive personality makes her comfortable initiating conversations and teasing friends without much hesitation.

She is also naturally courageous. In middle school, Mina intervenes when other students are being bullied and later confronts a threatening stranger despite being terrified. Her instinct is to protect others first and process her own fear afterward.

That fear becomes significant as she encounters increasingly dangerous villains. Mina is not fearless; rather, her strongest moments come from acting despite fear. She can also be emotionally shaken when an opponent reminds her of an earlier traumatic encounter, demonstrating that courage does not erase the psychological consequences of hero work.

Acid allows Mina to secrete corrosive fluid from her skin. She can regulate both its solubility and viscosity, letting her shift between highly corrosive attacks and thicker, less destructive applications useful for mobility or defense.

She can release acid beneath her feet to reduce friction and slide rapidly across surfaces, incorporating her dance-trained body control into highly agile movement. She can also create protective coatings and barriers by increasing the fluid's viscosity.

Her signature Acidman technique surrounds her body in a thick layer of acid, creating a defensive shell while allowing her to continue moving. Extended or excessive production strains her skin and dehydrates her body, making stamina management essential.

Mina appears throughout Class 1-A's school life, from the early Quirk Apprehension Test and U.S.J. incident through the Sports Festival, training camp, provisional licensing exam, School Festival, and Joint Training battles.

Her dancing becomes particularly useful during preparations for the U.A. School Festival. Mina teaches much of the class the choreography and even helps Izuku Midoriya improve his movement, techniques he later adapts during combat.

During the Paranormal Liberation War, Mina confronts Gigantomachia and momentarily freezes after recognizing him as the same terrifying figure she encountered in middle school. Eijirou Kirishima takes the sedative from her and completes the attack.

In the Final War, Mina confronts that earlier fear directly while protecting her allies, using an exceptionally powerful acid attack that pushes her Quirk and body to their limits.

Eijirou Kirishima attended middle school near Mina and witnessed her courage before either entered U.A. Her actions become one of the experiences that motivates him to change himself, while Mina later develops Acidman after drawing inspiration from his Unbreakable technique.

Ochaco Uraraka is one of Mina's close female classmates and frequent targets of her enthusiastic romantic teasing.

Izuku Midoriya receives dancing instruction from Mina before the School Festival and later applies the footwork she teaches him in combat.

Denki Kaminari, Hanta Sero, and Kyouka Jirou belong to Mina's regular social circle within Class 1-A.

Gigantomachia becomes a deeply personal enemy because Mina first encounters him before U.A. and later faces him again during the Paranormal Liberation War.
