Maureena

Maureena is intelligent, thoughtful, and more comfortable relying on strategy than physical force. She enjoys discussing complicated subjects and can approach difficult topics with an enthusiasm that makes them seem almost recreational.

Her analytical nature extends into her hobbies. She teaches Tokio to play chess during his time at Iwato Mori, giving the two a way to interact outside Keeper work.

Although she recognizes that she is not particularly strong in direct combat, Maureena does not treat that as making her useless. She instead builds her contribution around preparation, memory, weapons, and tactical thinking.

As the Memory Choujin, Maureena possesses extraordinary powers of recollection. She can retain information she has learned and draw upon that knowledge when constructing strategies.

The ability is especially useful because Maureena approaches combat intellectually. Rather than overpowering an opponent, she can remember relevant details, identify patterns, and formulate plans around the resources available to Iwato Mori.

Like other Choujin, she possesses Raise, allowing her to recover from otherwise fatal injuries under appropriate circumstances.

Maureena belongs to the small Iwato Mori organization that Tokio encounters during the period he spends away from Yamato. Alongside Frogar Piokotam and Cristiano, she becomes part of the community that welcomes him into Iwato.

Her responsibility for weapons maintenance and strategy is particularly valuable to such a small organization, where individual members cannot afford to specialize exclusively in frontline combat.

Maureena joins Iwato Mori's struggle against Haken King. She is ultimately killed during the conflict, becoming one of the losses Tokio suffers during his time in Iwato and contributing to the harder, more experienced person who eventually returns to Yamato.

Tokio Kurohara befriends Maureena while serving in Iwato. Maureena teaches Tokio Kurohara chess and becomes one of the people who give him a new community outside Yamato.

Frogar Piokotam is Maureena's director at Iwato Mori and one of the few Choujin with whom she works closely.

Cristiano is Maureena's fellow Iwato Mori Keeper. The organization's small size makes Cristiano, Maureena, and Frogar Piokotam a tightly connected team.

Haken King becomes Iwato Mori's principal enemy. The campaign against Haken ultimately results in Maureena's death.
