Mary McLane

Mary is playful, outspoken and courageous. She dislikes being automatically treated as a foreigner because of her appearance and name and quickly corrects people who make that assumption.

She maintains a sense of humor even during the invasion and becomes particularly interested in Kaze after seeing his physical abilities. Her directness contrasts sharply with his reserved personality.

Mary is also confident enough to fight giant aliens at close range, repeatedly entering situations where a mistake would be immediately fatal.

Mary is an exceptional martial artist with tremendous natural strength, speed and agility. Like Kaze, she frequently relies on physical combat enhanced by the Gantz suit rather than standing back with firearms.

She can kill giant aliens with powerful kicks and is skilled with a Gantz sword. Her reflexes allow her to avoid dangerous attacks and environmental hazards during the assault on the alien mothership.

Toshio Yazawa identifies Mary as one of the group's exceptional combatants alongside Kurono, Katou, Kaze and Kaiji Yoshikawa.

Mary arrives after the Tokyo team broadcasts a request for experienced hunters from across Japan. She joins the operation to enter the giant alien mothership and rescue captured humans.

She proves particularly effective in close combat, defeating aliens through a combination of martial arts and Gantz equipment.

Mary remains with the resistance through the later stages of the Katastrophe and returns to Earth, ultimately appearing among those welcoming Kurono and Katou after the final battle.

Daizaemon Kaze attracts Mary's attention because his close-combat abilities resemble her own. After learning that Kaze is a virgin, Mary kisses him and playfully declares him her soulmate.

Kei Kurono initially mistakes Mary for a foreigner when she joins the team, prompting her to correct him.

Reika Shimohira helps issue the call that brings Mary into the Katastrophe team.

Toshio Yazawa recognizes Mary as one of the strongest fighters in the assembled group.
