Maine

Maine is confident, forceful and accustomed to taking responsibility for a crew operating in dangerous circumstances. He expects people to prove themselves but is willing to give newcomers an opportunity when he believes they have potential.

He is especially protective of his crew. Maine can be intimidating when business demands it, yet his leadership is built around personal loyalty rather than treating teammates as disposable assets. His relationship with Dorio reveals a warmer side that he rarely displays during jobs.

Maine also takes pride in becoming stronger through cyberware. That confidence gradually makes it difficult for him to recognize his own limits, particularly when the physical and psychological costs of his implants begin interfering with his work.

Maine is an experienced Solo with extensive military and street-combat experience. His heavily augmented body gives him exceptional strength and durability, allowing him to overpower enemies at close range and withstand punishment that would incapacitate an unmodified person.

His cyberware includes large cyberarms and an integrated Projectile Launch System, which gives him explosive ranged firepower without requiring a conventional weapon. He also uses firearms and is comfortable fighting in coordinated mercenary operations.

Maine's experience extends beyond individual combat. He plans jobs, manages specialists with different roles and makes tactical decisions under pressure, allowing netrunners, techies and Solos within the crew to work as a coordinated unit.

Maine initially expects to receive the military-grade Sandevistan acquired by Gloria Martinez. When he discovers that David has installed it himself, the resulting confrontation ultimately leads to David joining his crew rather than surrendering the implant.

Maine becomes David's principal mentor in the edgerunner profession. He gives him work, teaches him how Night City's mercenary world operates and encourages him to develop into someone capable of surviving it.

Maine's increasingly extensive cyberware eventually contributes to cyberpsychosis. During the disastrous operation involving Tanaka, his condition deteriorates beyond the crew's ability to control. Dorio is killed while trying to reach him, and Maine dies during the ensuing confrontation with Trauma Team and the NCPD. His death leaves David to inherit both his cyberarm and his position as a crew leader.

Dorio is Maine's partner and right-hand woman. Their relationship combines romantic intimacy with years of professional trust.

David Martinez becomes Maine's protégé after joining the crew. David later inherits Maine's Projectile Launch System and effectively succeeds him as the leader of the surviving edgerunners.

Lucy works as one of Maine's netrunners after being brought into the crew by Kiwi.

Kiwi is an experienced netrunner in Maine's crew.

Rebecca and Pilar are sibling mercenaries who work under Maine.

Gloria Martinez conducts black-market cyberware business with Maine and intended to sell him the Sandevistan that eventually reaches David.
