Konro Sagamiya

Konro is calm, diplomatic and deeply loyal to Asakusa. He frequently handles conversations with outsiders because Benimaru Shinmon has little patience for formalities, and he can maintain his composure even when Benimaru becomes angry.

His loyalty to Benimaru is personal rather than merely hierarchical. Konro has known him since childhood and believes strongly in his ability to lead Asakusa. Benimaru, conversely, believes Konro has the temperament of a better captain, but Konro rejects the idea that he should replace him.

Konro also has the patience required of a teacher. He understands Asakusa's traditional martial techniques and can explain them more methodically than Benimaru, making him particularly useful when Company 7 trains younger Fire Soldiers.

Konro is a Third Generation pyrokinetic whose Ignition Ability concentrates flames around his shoulders and forearms, greatly increasing the power of his physical attacks. In his prime, he possessed enough firepower to confront a Demon Infernal.

His signature Crimson Moon produces an enormous circular burst of flame. The technique is powerful enough to excavate a huge crater and became one of the attacks associated with Benimaru after the younger man learned from Konro.

Konro's battle against the Demon Infernal pushed his body beyond its safe thermal limits and caused Tephrosis, leaving portions of his body charred. He can still ignite himself briefly, but doing so causes severe physical consequences and prevents him from fighting at his former level.

Even with limited pyrokinesis, Konro remains a skilled swordsman. He is capable of defeating dangerous opponents through martial skill and later trains Arthur in traditional sword techniques and the recognition of deceptive attacks.

Konro acts as Company 7's intermediary when Company 8 arrives in Asakusa. While Benimaru initially clashes with the visitors, Konro explains Company 7's customs, his captain's abilities and the circumstances that shaped their unconventional brigade.

During the White-Clad attack, Konro helps expose an impostor posing as Hikage and assists in organizing Company 7 as Asakusa erupts into violence. His understanding of Benimaru proves crucial when the captain hesitates to assume open leadership of the district.

Konro later helps train Arthur Boyle and supports Company 8's investigations into Adolla. His own experience becomes especially significant because he possesses a Stigma and has undergone an Adolla Link.

The circumstances behind Konro's old injuries are eventually explored in greater depth: he protected Benimaru by confronting a Demon Infernal alone, defeated it with overwhelming firepower and developed the condition that ended his career as Asakusa's primary fighter.

Benimaru Shinmon is Konro's closest friend and captain. Konro has watched over him since childhood, understands the emotions hidden behind his blunt behavior and believes completely in his ability to lead Asakusa.

Hibachi Shinmon was the previous head of Asakusa's firefighters and an important senior figure in Konro's youth. Konro often understood Hibachi's intentions better than the young Benimaru Shinmon did and helped bridge the communication gap between them.

Hikage and Hinata are young members of Company 7 whom Konro helps supervise and protect.

Arthur Boyle becomes Konro's student during Company 8's advanced training in Asakusa. Konro teaches him swordsmanship and techniques for recognizing feints and deceptive attacks.

Shinra Kusakabe learns about Konro's Tephrosis and Adolla experiences while investigating the larger mystery surrounding spontaneous human combustion.

Princess Hibana examines Konro because his Stigma and Adolla Link make his injuries relevant to her research.

Kayoko Huang assists in examining Konro's physical condition and the unusual scars associated with his experiences.
