Kariteru Kanaino

Kariteru openly describes himself as a pervert. His particular fixation is girls wearing glasses, and he goes so far as to insist that every girl would benefit from wearing them.

He directs the same fixation toward Medaka Kurokami, claiming she would look good even with fake glasses. His behavior during the Wedding Feast is intentionally provocative rather than dignified.

Little additional independent characterization is established before his role in the event is resolved.

Kariteru is a combatant associated with the Shiranui Household, but his personal fighting ability is not extensively demonstrated.

Before facing Ajimu, he claims to have prepared something specifically for the possibility of fighting her. He never receives an opportunity to demonstrate that preparation fully.

Ajimu defeats him using one hundred biological skills, leaving the exact nature and limits of Kariteru's intended strategy largely unexplored.

Kariteru appears among the six apparent suitors waiting for Medaka aboard the aircraft carrier Black. He listens to the rules of the Jet Black Wedding Feast before taking part in the sequence of battles against Ajimu.

He is the fifth of the apparent suitors to confront her, announcing that he has prepared for such an encounter.

Kariteru is subsequently revealed to be a member originally born into the Shiranui Household who became affiliated with the Kanaino family. He is not the true Kanaino suitor but Sui Kanaino's double.

Sui Kanaino is Kariteru's relative and the person whom Kariteru serves as a double.

Najimi Ajimu fights Kariteru aboard Black and defeats him before he can demonstrate the preparation he claims to have made for her.

Medaka Kurokami is the prospective bride around whom the Wedding Feast is organized, and Kariteru comments specifically on how she would look wearing glasses.

Hanten Shiranui is the ancient founder of the Shiranui Household from which Kariteru originates.
