Kageroza Inaba

Kageroza presents himself as a polite and unremarkable researcher but is arrogant, vindictive and convinced of his intellectual superiority. He respects Mayuri’s accomplishments while simultaneously believing he can surpass him.

His ambition originates in Yushima’s resentment toward Central 46 for terminating Project Spearhead. Despite his cruelty toward Nozomi, traces of their common origin cause him to show conflicted concern for her safety.

Kageroza is an expert on the Dangai and the creator of the Reigai, artificial bodies containing copied personalities and powers of Gotei 13 officers. Special bracelets suppress the duplicates until he releases their limits.

Raikū is concealed as a silver cane and released with the command “Go Mad.” Its Shikai becomes a double-headed polearm that manipulates space. By rotating it in one direction, Kageroza records an attack, movement or spatial event; rotating it the other way reproduces the stored phenomenon.

He opens portals into the Dangai, redirects attacks, creates independent copies of himself and displaces his position almost instantaneously. No Bankai is established.

Kageroza traps several captains in the Dangai and replaces them with obedient Reigai. He pursues Nozomi Kujō, whose existence is necessary to complete his underlying objective.

Kageroza and Nozomi are divided portions of Ōko Yushima’s Modified Soul. After capturing her, he fuses both halves and reconstructs Yushima. Nozomi resists from within, allowing Ichigo and the Gotei 13 to break the fusion. Kageroza briefly reappears as a separate being before fading with Yushima’s defeat.

Nozomi Kujō is Kageroza’s counterpart and the missing half required to restore Ōko Yushima.

Mayuri Kurotsuchi is the scientist Kageroza admires and seeks to surpass. Ichigo Kurosaki leads the resistance against him, while Kon repeatedly interferes with his attempt to capture Nozomi.
