Kagami Ou

Kagami Ou cares deeply about his family and country, but his judgment is shaped by the apparent miracle Bakugami brings to them. With sorrow disappearing and prosperity increasing, he has little initial reason to accept Gokuraku's insistence that something is fundamentally wrong.

He is therefore not presented simply as a malicious ruler protecting a convenient system. Like other citizens of Kagami, he experiences the effects of a Majik whose power changes the very emotions people would normally use to recognize what they have lost.

Kagami Ou is an ordinary human with no established witch magic or supernatural combat abilities.

His power is political. As Kagami's monarch, he occupies the highest position in the royal government during the period when Bakugami becomes the country's revered deity.

The king's family becomes connected to Bakugami when Richia encounters the Majik as a child. The removal of her sadness appears miraculous, and Bakugami's influence eventually spreads throughout the kingdom.

Kagami's resulting prosperity makes Gokuraku's opposition appear irrational and violent. The prince repeatedly attacks Bakugami despite the Majik's revered position, placing him at odds with the country's authorities.

Once Bakugami's true intentions and the consequences of its power are exposed, the royal family's understanding of Kagami's supposed paradise changes dramatically. The king later relinquishes the throne, with Richia succeeding him as the country's ruler.

Richia Kagami is Kagami Ou's daughter and first princess during his reign.

Gokuraku Kagami is his son, whose attacks on Bakugami place him in conflict with the kingdom.

Kagami Jou is his wife and the mother of Richia and Gokuraku.

Bakugami becomes central to Kagami during his reign, transforming the country's emotional life and prosperity.
