Richia Kagami

Richia is gentle, affectionate and devoted to the people around her. Her relationship with Gokuraku is particularly important; she dotes on her younger brother even when his behavior puts him in direct conflict with the country.

Her cheerful disposition during Ichi's visit must be understood in the context of Bakugami's influence. She genuinely experiences happiness, but the Majik has changed how sorrow and painful attachments operate within her emotional life.

Even under that influence, her attachment to Gokuraku proves exceptionally resilient. Their sibling bond becomes one of the emotional centers of the conflict surrounding Bakugami.

Richia is an ordinary human and has no established witch magic. Her importance to Kagami comes through her position in the royal family and her connection to Bakugami.

Bakugami's sorrow-removing ability first spreads through Richia after she embraces the Majik as a child. The resulting change becomes the model for the happiness subsequently offered to other inhabitants and visitors.

Richia encounters Bakugami ten years before Ichi's arrival, when the Majik is still small. Her embrace allows it to absorb the sadness she carries, producing an apparently miraculous improvement in her emotional state.

As others experience the same effect, Kagami becomes famous as a place where sorrow can be removed. Tourism and prosperity follow, and Bakugami becomes the country's revered deity.

The truth of Bakugami's power becomes central when Gokuraku demonstrates that removing sorrow can also erase emotional connections tied to painful memories. Richia's feelings surrounding her mother become evidence of what the country has surrendered in exchange for constant happiness.

After Bakugami is acquired and the stolen emotions return, Richia confronts the full weight of the feelings she had lost. The king subsequently abdicates, and Richia succeeds him as Queen of Kagami.

Gokuraku Kagami is Richia's younger brother. She loves him deeply despite his notorious attacks on the Majik worshipped by their country.

King Kagami is Richia's father and the ruler of Kagami during Bakugami's period of influence. He later abdicates and Richia succeeds him.

Queen Kagami is Richia's mother. Bakugami's removal of sorrow affects Richia's ability to feel the painful longing connected to her mother's death.

Bakugami first meets Richia when she is a child. Its removal of her sadness begins the transformation of Kagami into the Joyous Country.

Ichi comes to Kagami while helping Gokuraku challenge Bakugami and becomes involved in the conflict surrounding Richia's family.
