Jinjin

Jinjin is the quietest of Kouha's three artificial magicians. She rarely takes the lead in conversation, generally remaining beside Junjun and Reirei while they attend to their prince. Her subdued manner does not indicate weaker loyalty; she is just as attached to Kouha as the other two.

She also shares the trio's unusual response to Kouha's rough treatment. When he strikes Junjun for making a mistake while cleaning his clothes, Jinjin asks to receive the same treatment rather than being disturbed by it. Canon supplementary material also describes her as popular with men and notes that she has a fiancé.

Jinjin is an artificial magician created through experimentation rather than an ordinary naturally developed magician. The process changed her body, and she and her companions make use of magic tools. The full mechanics of the procedure and the extent of her individual magical repertoire are not explained.

Her confirmed specialty is Strength Magic, the seventh type of magic. During the Magnostadt battle, Jinjin, Junjun and Reirei channel Strength Magic into Kouha's Metal Vessel after his own Magoi has been heavily depleted. This transfers force into the weapon and enables them to support their prince's continued use of Leraje's power.

Jinjin first appears among the members of Kou's army and later accompanies Kouha on his journey toward Magnostadt. The three assistants had previously been subjected to experiments intended to create artificial magicians. When the experiment was judged a failure, their altered bodies caused them to be treated as monsters and abandoned. Kouha found them, bandaged and clothed them, and recruited them because he needed magic users.

That history becomes important when Kouha questions why Leraje chose him as a King Vessel. His army consists heavily of social outcasts, and the devotion of people such as Jinjin demonstrates his ability to give rejected people a place where they are valued. Jinjin later supports Kouha during the Magnostadt fighting, using Strength Magic alongside the other artificial magicians when his reserves run low.

Kouha Ren is Jinjin's prince, rescuer and commanding officer. He accepted her after the artificial-magician experiments left her rejected by others, producing the intense loyalty she shows toward him.

Junjun and Reirei underwent the same experiments as Jinjin and serve Kouha beside her. The three are almost always presented as a unit and share both their unusual magical background and their devotion to Kouha.

Meihou Kan serves in the same army and shares the trio's deep loyalty to Kouha. Like them, his background illustrates the prince's tendency to gather people marginalized by the wider Kou Empire.
