Jerry is affectionate, energetic and naturally maternal toward the people around him. Rather than approaching food as a routine institutional service, he takes pleasure in cooking for others and responds enthusiastically to anyone who appreciates his meals.

He is comfortable with his flamboyant manner and does not conform to the martial role originally expected of him. Growing up, Jerry was supposed to inherit his father's dojo, but travelling allowed him to discover both his talent for cooking and the nurturing lifestyle he actually preferred.

Jerry is not an Exorcist and possesses no Innocence. He is nevertheless physically formidable and trained in Muay Thai, reflecting his upbringing in a martial-arts family.

His primary contribution to the Order is culinary. As head cook, he manages the headquarters kitchen and prepares the large quantities of food required by its personnel, including the extraordinary portions consumed by Allen Walker.

Jerry is part of the everyday infrastructure of Black Order headquarters. He appears primarily between missions, giving the Exorcists a familiar place to eat and recover from the otherwise relentless conflict with Akuma.

His presence also helps establish headquarters as a lived-in community rather than simply a military installation. Scientists, Finders and Exorcists all pass through his dining hall, making Jerry part of the support network that keeps them functioning.

Komui Lee is one of Jerry's closest friends at headquarters. Their friendship extends beyond Jerry's ordinary role as a member of the support staff.

Lenalee Lee gets along well with Jerry and is treated with the same warmth he shows the people he considers family.

Allen Walker is an enthusiastic consumer of Jerry's cooking, with his parasitic Innocence contributing to an appetite large enough to surprise people unfamiliar with him.
