Inugami

Inugami is exceptionally calm during its initial appearances. It observes violence around it without visible concern and kills human soldiers without the manic behavior displayed by many of the lesser yōkai.

That composure changes when experienced Gantz hunters begin damaging it. Once genuinely threatened, Inugami becomes more visibly aggressive and brings its claws into play.

The limited dialogue and characterization surrounding the creature leave its motives unexplained; it is primarily defined through its intimidating restraint and combat behavior.

Inugami possesses superhuman speed, strength and durability. It can move quickly enough to challenge veteran Gantz hunters and can inflict severe physical damage at close range.

Its hands develop long claws that function as powerful melee weapons. It is also durable enough to withstand attacks from Gantz equipment that would destroy ordinary mission targets.

Even the Z-Gun's crushing gravitational attack does not immediately eliminate it, demonstrating how far its durability exceeds that of the lesser yōkai.

Inugami first appears during the escalating Osaka battle alongside Nurarihyon and Tengu, marking the arrival of enemies considerably stronger than the creatures the hunters have been eliminating for points.

After attacking military forces, it becomes a target for Osaka's elite hunters. Nobuo Muroya, Joji Shimaki and Kazuo Kuwabara participate in the effort to stop the major bosses.

The battle forces the veteran Osaka hunters to use their strongest equipment, demonstrating that the mission's highest-level targets can overwhelm players who had previously treated Gantz as entertainment.

Nurarihyon and Tengu appear alongside Inugami as the three principal boss creatures overlooking the Osaka battlefield.

Nobuo Muroya, Joji Shimaki and Kazuo Kuwabara are among the veteran Osaka hunters who confront the mission's major bosses.
