Idaki Hitara

Hitara is eccentric and withdrawn, frequently speaking as though the voice coming through his headphones belongs to his daughter. To people unaware of his history, the conversations can seem disconnected from reality.

His behavior is rooted in grief rather than simple confusion. The phrases he attributes to his daughter and his fixation on the headphones preserve an emotional connection to the person who shaped his life before imprisonment.

Despite his age and sorrow, Hitara remains capable of decisive violence when his companions are threatened.

Condor Candle allows Hitara to spread his blood across an area and ignite it. The resulting flames can surround, trap and burn opponents, giving him considerable control over the battlefield.

His unusual description of the flames as "hotter than ice" is connected to the personal tragedy behind his ability.

Hitara can use Condor Candle effectively against the Complete Forgeries, making him one of the veteran Deadmen capable of challenging Tamaki's artificially enhanced fighters.

Hitara appears among the established Deadmen of G Ward and is recognizable by his headphones and repeated references to his daughter.

His daughter, Yuki Hitara, was severely burned in an accident and begged her father to kill her because of the pain. Hitara could not bring himself to do so; Yuki ultimately set herself on fire, and the tragedy became inseparable from Hitara's later fixation on flames and his headphones.

After the emergence of the Complete Forgeries, Hitara joins Senji, Minatsuki and Chaplin in fighting Tamaki's First Unit. He later participates in the return to Deadman Wonderland.

Yuki Hitara is Hitara's daughter and the person he continually addresses through his headphones. Her death by self-immolation is the defining trauma behind his behavior.

Masaru Sukegawa is one of Hitara's regular companions in G Ward and later fights alongside him.

Itadaki Kazuya frequently spends time with Hitara and Chaplin.

Minatsuki Takami is another Deadman in Hitara's circle and later joins him in combat against the Complete Forgeries.

Kyoko Kasuga and Bundō Rokuro were students taught by Hitara before his imprisonment.
