Homare

Homare is friendly and comfortable around the people of Suwa Shrine. Together with Sakae and Hikari, she reacts warmly to Tokiyuki and participates in the lighter everyday scenes surrounding his life in Suwa.

She is not characterized as a warrior or political figure. The material devoted specifically to Homare is limited, so details about her background, ambitions or personal history remain unpublished.

Her relatively ordinary presence is useful within the Suwa cast, where gods, warriors and unusually gifted children otherwise dominate much of the story.

Homare is a shrine maiden, but no distinctive supernatural ability has been established for her. Her religious affiliation should not be taken as evidence that she can perform the divine techniques used by Shizuku or Yorishige.

No combat specialty or named technique has been established for Homare either. Her duties are associated with the shrine community rather than the battlefield.

Homare appears around Suwa Shrine during Tokiyuki's early period in hiding. She is present with the other shrine maidens as Tokiyuki adjusts to his new surroundings and begins preparing for the eventual struggle to reclaim Kamakura.

She also appears around the events involving Sadamune's arrival and Tokiyuki's archery training. Her role remains peripheral to the contest itself.

Later material continues to treat Homare as a member of the Suwa community rather than developing a separate campaign or combat storyline around her.

Sakae and Hikari are Homare's fellow shrine maidens and frequently appear alongside her.

Tokiyuki Houjou is the young Houjou heir sheltered by the Suwa faction, and Homare is among the shrine maidens who receive him into their community.

Shizuku is another shrine maiden associated with Suwa, although her responsibilities place her much closer to the leadership and military activities surrounding Tokiyuki.

Yorishige Suwa leads the Suwa religious community to which Homare belongs.
