Personality
Personality
Hevlaska is calm, solemn and accustomed to the responsibilities imposed by her unusual existence. She has spent far longer within the Black Order than most of its current personnel and treats Exorcists with an awareness of how dangerous synchronization with Innocence can become.
She is especially familiar with Komui Lee, whose visits provide companionship within the isolation of her chamber. Her attitude toward Central is considerably less affectionate.
Abilities & Powers
Abilities & Powers
Hevlaska's parasitic Innocence is the Cube, which has engulfed and transformed her body. She can extend tendril-like appendages around an Exorcist and directly examine the relationship between an Accommodator and their Innocence.
This allows her to measure synchronization rates, identify unusual changes and assess potential. She can also communicate with Innocence in ways ordinary researchers cannot, making her examinations an important part of the Order's management of Anti-Akuma weapons.
Recovered Innocence is stored within openings in Hevlaska's body until compatible humans are found. She is also associated with prophetic statements concerning Exorcists, although those predictions can be cryptic rather than precise.
Story Role
Story Role
Hevlaska examines Allen Walker shortly after his arrival at headquarters, confirming his status as an Accommodator and introducing him to the Black Order's formal handling of Innocence.
She continues functioning as the Order's repository and examiner as new Innocence and Exorcists arrive. Her unusual sensitivity makes her important whenever an Anti-Akuma weapon behaves in an unprecedented way.
Hevlaska later confirms through Judgment itself that Cross Marian is no longer recognized as the weapon's Accommodator, adding to the mystery surrounding Cross's disappearance.
Relationships
Relationships
Komui Lee regularly interacts with Hevlaska and is one of the people whose company she enjoys within headquarters.
Allen Walker is examined by Hevlaska after entering the Black Order, allowing her to assess his synchronization with Innocence.
Cross Marian becomes the subject of an important later examination when Hevlaska determines through Judgment that the weapon no longer recognizes him as its Accommodator.
Malcolm C. Lvellie is connected to Hevlaska through the Order's oldest history, although their relationship is far less comfortable than her relationship with Komui.
