Personality
Personality
Haumea is energetic, mocking and frequently cruel. She treats dangerous situations like games, taunts allies and enemies alike, and often torments Charon despite his unwavering devotion to protecting her. Her behavior can shift abruptly between childish amusement and calculated hostility.
She is highly intelligent beneath that erratic exterior. Haumea understands how to exploit fear, confusion and interpersonal weaknesses, and her electrical powers make psychological manipulation a literal extension of her personality.
Haumea's instability is heavily influenced by her Adolla Burst. From childhood, her ability exposes her to the thoughts and negative emotions of humanity, forcing an immense volume of despair into her mind. Her cruelty and erratic behavior develop partly as a means of enduring that constant psychic noise.
Abilities & Powers
Abilities & Powers
Haumea is a Third Generation pyrokinetic with an Adolla Burst. Her Ignition Ability converts her flames into electrical signals, giving her unusually direct control over the human nervous system.
By transmitting electrical signals into another person, she can interfere with movement, induce involuntary actions and, under suitable circumstances, manipulate a target's behavior. She can also communicate through electrical signals and detect information that would be inaccessible to an ordinary pyrokinetic.
Her ability is exceptionally dangerous but poorly suited to conventional physical combat. Haumea therefore relies heavily on Charon as her guardian. His close-range power and ability to absorb attacks allow her to operate while protected from opponents who might otherwise overwhelm her.
Haumea's connection to Adolla further amplifies her importance. As the Second Pillar, her Adolla Burst is one of the eight flames required by the Evangelist's plan for the Great Cataclysm.
Story Role
Story Role
Haumea operates behind several of the White-Clad's early actions and emerges openly as one of the organization's highest-ranking Pillars. She accompanies Charon in missions involving other Adolla Burst users and takes particular interest in controlling the people needed for the Evangelist's plan.
During the Nether confrontation, Haumea intervenes in the battle between Shinra Kusakabe and Shō Kusakabe. Her ability gives the White-Clad a means of keeping Shō under control when his encounters with Shinra begin affecting him emotionally.
She later plays a central role in operations involving Inca Kasugatani, Nataku Son and the remaining Pillars. Her status places her near the center of the preparations for another Cataclysm rather than merely among the White-Clad's combat troops.
As the Cataclysm progresses, Haumea becomes increasingly intertwined with the Evangelist and humanity's collective despair. Her role culminates in her serving as the Saint through whom the Evangelist's plan for humanity's destruction is carried forward.
Relationships
Relationships
Charon has served as Haumea's guardian since she was a child. She insults and mistreats him regularly, yet he remains extraordinarily devoted to her. Charon understands that Haumea has spent her life hearing humanity's darkest thoughts and recognizes the suffering beneath her behavior, making his protection of her deeply personal rather than merely an assignment.
The Evangelist is the figure Haumea serves and the source of the religious mission around which her life has been organized.
Shō Kusakabe is another Pillar whose behavior Haumea monitors closely. When his bond with his brother begins weakening his loyalty, Haumea uses her electrical ability to control him and suppress his resistance.
Shinra Kusakabe is the Fourth Pillar and one of the principal obstacles to the White-Clad's plans. His efforts to recover his brother repeatedly bring him into conflict with Haumea.
Inca Kasugatani becomes another Pillar within the White-Clad's custody, placing her alongside Haumea in the Evangelist's larger plan.
Arrow and Yona are fellow members of the White-Clad who operate within the same organization under the Evangelist.
