Galient Tazaki

Galient is stern, loyal and intensely devoted to Asana. He treats her as the unquestioned leader of the Heavy Cavalry Duel Club and is quick to oppose anyone he believes threatens her or the organization.

His loyalty can make him confrontational. Galient has little patience for outsiders interfering in the club's affairs, particularly when their actions appear to challenge the traditions Asana is trying to preserve.

Despite his intimidating manner, his devotion is genuine rather than opportunistic. He remains concerned about Asana's well-being and the circumstances affecting Mutsuba Heavy Machinery.

Galient is an experienced operator of heavy machinery and a tactical adviser within the Heavy Cavalry Duel Club. He helps coordinate the club's operations and understands the equipment central to its identity.

His Rush Duel Deck uses EARTH Machine monsters based on construction equipment, including Bull Breaker, Shovel Crusher and Drilling Mandrill. His cards emphasize the same industrial imagery associated with Asana and Mutsuba Heavy Machinery.

Galient is also physically capable and comfortable around large machinery, making him a useful member of the club outside formal Duels.

Galient appears as one of the principal members of the Heavy Cavalry Duel Club during the Goha 6th Elementary conflict. He supports Asana's campaign against Rush Dueling and helps enforce the club's authority over the school.

His first prominent confrontation is with Ranze Nanahoshi, who attempts to investigate the Heavy Cavalry Duel Club. Their encounter demonstrates both Galient's loyalty to Asana and the club's determination to stop outsiders from interfering.

After the circumstances behind Asana's cooperation with Goha are exposed, Galient remains loyal to her rather than to Goha Corporation. He subsequently becomes an ally of Yuga's wider group alongside the rest of the Heavy Cavalry Duel Club.

Asana Mutsuba is Galient's leader and the person to whom he is most devoted. He serves as Asana Mutsuba's tactical adviser and supports her decisions even under considerable pressure.

Kayama Schwer is another member of the Heavy Cavalry Duel Club and one of Galient's regular associates.

Caterpillio Zomyoji serves as the club's mechanic and works alongside Galient.

Ranze Nanahoshi becomes Galient's Rush Duel opponent while investigating Goha 6th Elementary.

Yuga Ohdo initially stands on the opposite side of the Heavy Cavalry Duel Club's conflict over Rush Dueling. [Galient later accepts Yuga Ohdo as an ally after the conflict surrounding Asana is resolved.](#spoiler)
