Personality
Personality
Fou is short-tempered, blunt and aggressive, especially toward Allen Walker and Bak Chang. Her preferred form of encouragement is confrontation: when Allen struggles to recover his Innocence, she attacks him rather than reassuring him and refuses to let him surrender to self-pity.
Her hostility hides considerable compassion. Fou worries about Allen's emotional state and occasionally assumes Rohfa's appearance so that she can encourage him without admitting that she cares. She likewise constantly teases Bak while remaining fiercely protective of him.
Abilities & Powers
Abilities & Powers
Fou is an artificial guardian created through magic associated with the Chang family and bound to the Asian Branch. She can manipulate her body freely, changing her hands and arms into large bladed weapons for close combat.
Her shapeshifting also allows her to copy another person's appearance. The disguise can be convincing enough for Fou to approach someone under a familiar face, although her personality can make maintaining the impersonation difficult.
Fou can communicate telepathically and manifest throughout the Asian Branch's protective structure. Her existence is tied to the branch itself, allowing her to function as both an individual guardian and part of its defensive system.
Story Role
Story Role
Fou becomes directly involved with Allen Walker after Tyki Mikk nearly kills him and destroys his Innocence. Allen recuperates at the Asian Branch, where Fou begins training him in the hope that placing him under genuine combat pressure will force his Innocence to respond.
The training instead makes Allen examine why his Innocence no longer appears when he calls it. Fou alternates between attacking him and quietly supporting him, becoming one of the central figures in his recovery.
When a Level 3 Akuma attacks the Asian Branch, Fou confronts it despite the danger to herself. Allen's desire to protect both the branch and Fou finally helps him understand his connection to Innocence, leading to the manifestation of Crown Clown.
Relationships
Relationships
Bak Chang shares a close bond with Fou. She mocks and strikes him freely, but her attachment to him and his family is genuine, and protecting him is inseparable from her role as guardian of the Asian Branch.
Allen Walker becomes Fou's student during his recovery. Her merciless training initially frustrates him, but she is also one of the people who refuses to let him give up. Protecting Fou during the attack on the branch contributes to Allen finally recovering his Innocence as Crown Clown.
Rohfa is one of the young scientists at the branch. Fou occasionally copies her appearance when she wants to encourage Allen without revealing her softer side.
