Edward Avalaché

Edward is composed, stern, and deeply serious about the suffering of ordinary people. Before becoming Wizard King, he served as a priest and developed a strong concern for vulnerable civilians.

His experiences eventually convince him that the kingdom itself perpetuates suffering. This leaves him receptive to Conrad's radical plan, though Edward remains capable of acknowledging courage and compassion when he encounters them.

He does not display Jester's enthusiasm for fighting. Edward approaches battle as a necessary means to achieve what he believes will be a better society.

Edward uses Ice Wedge Magic, generating enormous quantities of ice and shaping it into weapons, defensive structures, and battlefield-spanning formations.

His magic can freeze large areas almost instantly and create enormous ice constructs. The scale of these spells reflects the mana and control expected of someone who once held the title of Wizard King.

Edward is also an experienced close-range and strategic combatant. He can maintain large spells while simultaneously responding to attacks from several Magic Knights.

Edward is restored alongside Jester and Princia Funnybunny as part of Conrad's plan. He confronts a group of Black Bulls while the revived Wizard Kings divide the Clover Kingdom's defenders.

Noelle Silva becomes particularly important during the confrontation. Edward initially regards the current Magic Knights as defenders of the same society whose failures caused his disillusionment.

The Black Bulls' determination to protect one another and ordinary civilians begins to change Edward's view. Noelle's refusal to abandon her companions demonstrates that the current generation may possess the compassion he believed the kingdom had lost.

Edward ultimately accepts his defeat and entrusts the future to the younger Magic Knights rather than continuing Conrad's campaign.

Conrad Leto restores Edward and gains his cooperation by appealing to their shared dissatisfaction with the Clover Kingdom.

Noelle Silva becomes Edward's principal ideological opponent and helps challenge his belief that the kingdom's current generation cannot change society.

Princia Funnybunny and Jester Galandros are fellow former Wizard Kings revived alongside Edward.

Secre Swallowtail, Vanessa Enoteca, Gauche Adlai, Grey, and Charmy Pappitson are among the Black Bulls opposing Edward's attack.
