Dunya Musta'sim

Dunya retains the manners expected of a princess and can initially appear soft-spoken and courteous. Beneath that presentation is an intense bitterness born from the destruction of her country. She despises Magnostadt for its connection to the uprising that destroyed Musta'sim's ruling order and has difficulty separating individuals associated with the country from the people responsible for her suffering.

Combat brings out a much more aggressive side of her. Dunya is proud of her strength and determined to prove herself, continuing to fight even when using her Dark Metal Vessel places enormous strain on her. Her emotional dependence on Isaac is particularly strong; their shared childhood and his devotion to her became one of the foundations of her identity.

Dunya possesses Al-Qaus, a Dark Metal Vessel that uses Black Rukh and allows her to manipulate large quantities of sand and mineral material through magnetism. She can gather this material around her weapon and reshape it for different attacks, including spikes, dragon-like formations and a rotating drill. Her ability to alter the form of the accumulated material makes her fighting style unusually adaptable.

By driving the Dark Metal Vessel into herself, Dunya can transform into a Dark Djinn and later use a Dark Djinn Equip. These transformations greatly increase her combat power but consume substantial Magoi. Her Extreme Magic, Rea Bard, produces an enormous formation above the battlefield and rains down a vast number of dark blades.

Dunya's power also maintains a constructed version of Isaac made from iron sand, allowing her to continue fighting beside the companion she lost during the destruction of Musta'sim. When Aladdin exposes the truth and reaches Isaac's Rukh through the Wisdom of Solomon, Dunya finally begins to confront the grief and hatred that had driven her into depravity.

Dunya enters the Zagan storyline posing as a merchant alongside Isaac and Ithnan. Once Aladdin, Alibaba Saluja, Hakuryuu Ren and their companions reach Zagan's treasury, her allegiance becomes clear. She identifies herself as the princess of Musta'sim and demands the right to conquer the Dungeon.

Her confrontation with Aladdin reveals the destructive potential of Dark Metal Vessels and gives the group another direct encounter with Al-Thamen's methods. The battle also exposes the tragedy behind her partnership with Isaac: the real Isaac had already been killed while helping her escape the purge of Musta'sim's royal family, and the figure accompanying her was sustained through her power.

After her defeat, Aladdin uses the Wisdom of Solomon to understand her past and allows Isaac's Rukh to reach her. Dunya is subsequently taken to Sindria, where she slowly begins communicating with Aladdin and reconsidering some of her hatred. The damage caused by her Dark Djinn transformation proves irreversible, however, and her body eventually deteriorates completely.

Isaac was Dunya's childhood companion and knight. His mother helped raise Dunya after her own mother's death, leaving the two with a bond resembling both friendship and family. Isaac pledged himself to her as her knight, and Dunya trusted him deeply. His death while attempting to save her from the purge of the Musta'sim royal family became the central trauma behind her fall into depravity.

Aladdin begins as Dunya's opponent at Zagan but becomes one of the few people she is willing to speak with afterward. By using the Wisdom of Solomon and reconnecting her with Isaac's Rukh, he helps her abandon some of the hatred that had consumed her. Their later interactions in Sindria show Dunya becoming considerably more relaxed around him.

Ithnan accompanies Dunya as an Al-Thamen operative and assists her group in battle. He strengthens Dunya and Isaac with his magic during their confrontation with Aladdin's party.

Yamraiha initially attracts Dunya's hostility because of her connection to Magnostadt. Dunya struggles to believe that someone associated with the academy could be innocent of the events that destroyed Musta'sim, while Yamraiha attempts to explain that she had no part in the uprising.
