Dragon

Dragon is restrained, serious, and strategically minded. He rarely displays strong emotion in public, preferring to observe political developments and consider their broader consequences. His authority among revolutionaries appears to arise from conviction and judgment rather than theatrical command.

He places exceptional importance on freedom and condemns systems that deny people the ability to live with dignity. His response to the destruction of the Gray Terminal shows particular disgust toward rulers willing to burn their own subjects to preserve appearances.

Dragon is not openly involved in Luffy’s upbringing and does not attempt to direct his son’s life. He nevertheless follows reports of Luffy’s progress with interest and accepts that children need not inherit their parents’ goals. His personal distance remains one of the least explained aspects of his character.

Dragon commands one of the world’s most influential military organizations. His authority extends across regional commanders, intelligence networks, liberation forces, and allied uprisings. This strategic reach allows the Revolutionary Army to challenge governments protected by the World Government.

He is physically capable of stopping Smoker from capturing Luffy at Loguetown. The full extent of his combat strength has not been shown, but his reputation, leadership position, and treatment by the World Government identify him as an exceptionally dangerous individual.

Powerful winds and dramatic weather accompany his intervention at Loguetown and other appearances. Canon has not established whether Dragon causes these events, possesses a Devil Fruit, or controls weather through any other ability. Claims assigning him a specific supernatural power therefore remain unconfirmed.

Dragon witnesses Gol D. Roger’s execution at Loguetown. He later becomes a revolutionary leader and helps create the organization that develops into the Revolutionary Army. He previously served in the Marines but left after finding no justice within the institution. After the destruction of Ohara, he joined Emporio Ivankov and Bartholomew Kuma in founding the Revolutionary Army from the earlier Freedom Fighters.

At Loguetown, Dragon intervenes when Smoker is about to capture Monkey D. Luffy, enabling his son to continue toward the Grand Line. He does not introduce himself, and Luffy only learns of their relationship later through Garp.

Dragon’s movement aids oppressed populations and declares war on the Celestial Dragons. Following the loss of its base at Baltigo, the Revolutionary Army relocates its headquarters to Momoiro Island. Its commanders later attack the Reverie, destroy the Celestial Dragons’ food reserves, free enslaved people, and rescue Kuma.

Monkey D. Luffy is Dragon’s son. Dragon saves Monkey D. Luffy at Loguetown and monitors news of his achievements, but he has not played a conventional parental role in his life.

Monkey D. Garp is Dragon’s father and a celebrated Marine. Their positions place them on opposing sides of the global political order, although little direct interaction between Monkey D. Garp and Dragon has been shown.

Sabo is Dragon’s chief of staff and one of his most trusted subordinates. Dragon rescued Sabo after his boat was destroyed and later oversaw his development within the Revolutionary Army.

Emporio Ivankov is a founding member and senior commander of Dragon’s movement. Bartholomew Kuma is another founder whose sacrifice and eventual enslavement become central concerns for the organization.

Koala serves as an officer and instructor within the Revolutionary Army. Belo Betty, Karasu, Morley, and Lindbergh command its regional forces under Dragon’s overall leadership.

Smoker is the Marine officer Dragon stops at Loguetown. Gol D. Roger’s execution is an important event witnessed by Dragon, while the World Government and its Celestial Dragons constitute the principal institutional enemies of his revolutionary campaign.
