Daikyou Oboro

Daikyou carries himself like an experienced warrior and approaches combat with confidence in his swordsmanship. He is considerably more knowledgeable about fighting than his young shaman and is able to judge how dangerous an attack would be if performed with a genuine blade rather than Yohane's umbrella.

His past also reveals a volatile side. During his lifetime, after drinking heavily, he confronted former comrades who had adopted firearms; the encounter escalated until he attacked them and they shot him down. Despite the circumstances surrounding his past, he functions as a disciplined combat partner when accompanying Yohane.

Daikyou was an accomplished swordsman in life and wielded a long katana named Daikiri. Through Soul Integration, Yohane allows Daikyou's swordsmanship to guide his body while substituting an umbrella for the lost sword. Yohane even covers his right eye when using this technique so that his vision matches Daikyou's.

Their techniques include Misty Moon Slicer, a broad swing capable of driving an opponent backward, and Kyōsha, a powerful thrust intended to close distance rapidly. Daikyou states that Kyōsha performed with his actual sword would have been capable of inflicting a severe penetrating wound on Hana Asakura.

Yohane can also manifest Daikyou as the weapon-type O.S. Tsukuyomi. Together with Luca's spirits Shinden and Raiden, Daikyou can participate in Gion Gattai, combining Yohane's Tsukuyomi with Luca's Amaterasu into a larger composite Over Soul.

Daikyou accompanies Yohane when the Kyoto branch of the Asakura family sends him to Funbari Hill. He therefore participates directly in Yohane's first confrontation with Hana, where his experience as a swordsman gives the sheltered Yohane a dangerous set of close-combat techniques.

After Yohane's initial defeat, Daikyou remains his principal Guardian Ghost as Yohane and Luca launch another attack against Hana. He is incorporated into the siblings' combined Over Soul before Tamao's intervention forces the Kyoto branch into a truce with the main Asakura family.

As Yohane's circumstances change, Daikyou continues serving him rather than being tied specifically to the feud that originally brought them to Funbari Hill.

Yohane Asakura is Daikyou's shaman. Their partnership allows Yohane to compensate for his physically fragile body by drawing on Daikyou's swordsmanship and combat experience.

Hana Asakura is the principal opponent Daikyou and Yohane face when they first arrive in Funbari Hill.

Luca Asakura fights alongside Yohane, and her Guardian Ghosts can combine with Daikyou in the siblings' composite Over Soul.

Shinden and Raiden are the two spirits whose power can be combined with Daikyou's through Gion Gattai.
