Byakkotsu

Byakkotsu receives very little individual dialogue or personal development. He participates willingly in the Seigi Party's violent operations and belongs to the leadership group surrounding Shoukan.

His affiliation establishes that he is comfortable participating in the group's attacks on settlements and civilians, but canon provides too little direct material to assign him more specific motives or personality traits.

His frightening visual design serves as the strongest immediate expression of his role: he looks like one of the hardened criminals whom the young defenders must somehow overcome.

Byakkotsu is considered one of the Seigi Party's stronger officers. Fubuki specifically recognizes the group's elite fighters as threats capable of disrupting the defense of Nakayama Manor.

The story provides little opportunity to demonstrate the full extent of Byakkotsu's ability. No named technique or specialized supernatural power is established for him.

His reputation within the group nevertheless indicates that he is considerably more dangerous than an ordinary bandit.

Byakkotsu participates in the Seigi Party's attack on Nakayama Manor. Fubuki's defensive strategy depends on identifying and separating the strongest enemies so they cannot simply overwhelm the villagers together.

Kojiro and Ayako take part in the counterattack against the elite bandits while Tokiyuki and Fubuki deal with other dangerous opponents.

Byakkotsu is caught by Kojiro and Ayako's surprise attack and killed before he can demonstrate the full strength Fubuki expected from him. His abrupt defeat shows the effectiveness of the Elusive Warriors' coordination and preparation.

Shoukan is Byakkotsu's leader within the Seigi Party.

Furan and Shirou are fellow officers who participate in the attack on Nakayama Manor.

Fubuki identifies Byakkotsu as one of the enemies the defenders must treat as a serious threat.

Kojiro and Ayako launch the surprise attack that defeats Byakkotsu during the battle.

Sadamune Ogasawara employs the Seigi Party through Shoukan as an unconventional force against Suwa-associated territory.
