Bui

Bui is quiet, disciplined and intimidating. He speaks rarely and does not indulge in the taunting or sadism associated with some of his teammates.

His primary motivation is strength. Having previously suffered defeat at the hands of Younger Toguro, he uses his time with Team Toguro to become powerful enough to seek another confrontation.

Bui's demeanor during combat is serious rather than theatrical. He acknowledges powerful opponents and is willing to reveal his full strength when ordinary attacks prove insufficient.

Bui possesses immense physical strength. He can wield a gigantic axe with ease and throw it with enough force to make the weapon dangerous even against highly mobile opponents.

His most important ability is the release of a huge quantity of demon energy. When he removes his armor, his aura becomes powerful enough to surround his body and lift him into the air.

Bui can concentrate this aura offensively and defensively, producing tremendous pressure around himself. His control is sufficient to redirect powerful energy rather than merely enduring it.

During his battle with Hiei, Bui manages to repel the Dragon of the Darkness Flame back toward its user, an accomplishment that demonstrates both the scale of his energy and his physical endurance.

Bui competes as a member of Team Toguro in the Dark Tournament finals and faces Hiei. He initially fights with his enormous axe while wearing the armor that restrains his full strength.

After Hiei destroys the weapon, Bui removes his armor and releases his demon energy. The fight escalates into a contest between Bui's overwhelming aura and Hiei's Dragon of the Darkness Flame.

Bui successfully redirects the first Dragon back at Hiei, but Hiei absorbs the technique into his own body and uses its power to overwhelm him in close combat. Bui survives the defeat despite asking Hiei to finish him.

His survival distinguishes him from several other members of Team Toguro and leaves his original ambition of eventually challenging Younger Toguro unresolved.

Hiei is Bui's opponent during the Dark Tournament finals. Their battle forces both fighters to reveal exceptionally dangerous techniques.

Toguro Otouto previously defeats Bui and becomes the target Bui hopes eventually to surpass and challenge again.

Karasu also loses to the Toguro brothers before joining their group, giving him a background similar to Bui's.

Toguro Ani is Bui's teammate during the Dark Tournament finals.
