Balsamico Hakushaku

Balsamico is protective, proud, controlling, and highly conscious of social class. He wants to determine what is best for Aceto and is willing to conceal information from her when he believes doing so will secure the future he prefers.

His strongest prejudice concerns social status. Balsamico considers a former servant unsuitable for his daughter regardless of their mutual feelings and repeatedly uses their difference in rank as justification for keeping them apart.

He is also quick to blame hired help when events fail to go according to plan, denying Fairy Tail its promised reward after the Magic Dance Ball does not produce the outcome he wanted.

No personal magic or combat ability is established for Balsamico.

His influence comes from wealth and noble standing. He owns Balsamico Castle, employs servants, organizes the family's elaborate seven-year Magic Dance Ball, and can offer a four-million-Jewel reward for the capture of Velveno.

Balsamico appears during the anime-original Magic Dance Ball incident. Fairy Tail accepts his request to protect the Balsamico Ring and capture Velveno, whose Transformation Magic makes identifying him among the guests difficult.

At midnight, Balsamico unveils the ring and announces the family's custom: whichever man obtains it first receives the right to propose to Aceto.

Velveno reveals his disguise, claims the ring, and shocks Balsamico by using the tradition exactly as intended.

Velveno explains that he once served the Balsamico household and loved Aceto, but Balsamico drove him away because he considered a servant socially beneath his daughter. Aceto accepts Velveno's proposal despite her father's objections, provided Velveno first answers for his crimes.

Aceto is Balsamico's daughter and the person around whom his protective and controlling behavior revolves.

Velveno is Balsamico's former servant. Balsamico separates him from Aceto after discovering their romantic feelings because he considers Velveno beneath her social standing.

Natsu Dragneel, Lucy Heartfilia, Erza Scarlet, Wendy Marvell, Gray Fullbuster, and Elfman Strauss are among the Fairy Tail members hired to protect the ball.
